To those who are given much, much is expected. Everything we do effects others, seen or unseen. We are making change. By changing our eating habits and how we workout, we are forever changing generations to come. Make positive life changing decisions daily. Think beyond yourself.

Competition This Weekend
This weekend I will be competing at the OC Throwdown in beautiful Southern California at the OC Fair in THE HANGER. The Hanger is a 23,000 sqft venue with 50 foot high ceilings and suites, with plenty of room to do some CRAZY workouts. I competed in this last year and it is a 2-day event. Last year I placed 3rd overall. I ended up 1 point out of first which left me in 3rd. This year looks to be an EPIC event! With so many Games Athletes in attendance (Blair Morrison, Patrick Burke, Tommy Hackenbruck, Nate Schrader, Gabe Subry, and Peter Egyed) the level of competition will off the charts! I have been working solely with Brian Mackenzie of Crossfit Endurance for my sole programming. If he says it I do it. If he doesn’t then I don’t. We have been working on efficiency of movement more than anything which should prove to be a game changer for me. Shoring up some weaknesses and building a better athlete. I really enjoy working with him and like what he is doing with me. If you are in the area come check it out.

Here are some recent workout videos of me hitting some heavy lifts.
Post Workout Thoughts on Video
Hey guys I’m back! Had to take a little break because of too much going on. We put on a sick Team Competition at our Box called Battle of the Boxes (check out the photos on our Battle of the Boxes Facebook Page) earlier this month so that along with training, running the box, and being a daddy & husband I haven’t been able to post as much as I would have liked to. Also, went on some road trips with Tony Blauer for the Be Your Own Bodyguard Workshop. Been having fun and trying to get healthy.
My wrist is finally healthy and I am feeling good. I am working exclusively with Brian Mackenzie for all my programming. I really like what he is doing with me and its nice not having to decide what to do. He makes me do things I wouldn’t force myself to do on my own. I open up my program from him and do the work. Simple. Here is a video of me right after smashing Jackie on Saturday night at the box alone. Felt amazing. I ended up getting 5:55 which was a 22 second improvement since May of this year. This was a huge confidence builder for me. Knowing that when I hit my previous Jackie, in May this year, I was getting ready to go to the Games so I was at the top of my game. So when I beat that time it helped me realize that even though I have been dealing with some nagging injuries like my wrist and achilles for a few months I am still getting better. Got me pretty pumped and I thought I would get my thoughts on video so I could look back at this anytime and remember. Train Hard.
What are you doing today to get better for tomorrow?

You should always think of a way to get better tomorrow by doing something today. If you wait until tomorrow to do it, you are more likely to do nothing about it. Yesterday I did 4 max rep sets of box squats to a 14″ box with 375#s. My sets were 2 reps, 3 reps, 3 reps, and 2 reps. Then I hit a wod after and some glute ham raises after that. Topped it off with 3 rounds of 1 minute on 1 minute off of ICE BATH work haha.
I have been struggling through some nagging injuries in my left wrist and in my right achilles but I am not letting it keep me down. I am just altering my workouts to allow my injuries to heal and recover. For example today’s workout is supposed to have ohs, split jerk, & hang squat cleans with a 95# bar. But because of my wrist I can’t do those movements with a barbell. So I am switching to 45# dumbbells for those 3 movements. Adapt and improve folks thats the key. Being injured allows us to work on things we wouldn’t normally work on. Use these moments to get better rather than get discouraged focusing on what you can’t do rather than what you can do.
